|
| In 2003, INSETA sponsored the development of sample learning for use by providers and other stakeholders in the
insurance industry. |
|
|
| Aim of the project |
|
| To offer a framework that can be used by providers as a guide in designing their own material to the methods of
outcomes-based learning, for the benefit of learners. Please note, the
intention is not to supply material for all unit standards developed on an
ongoing basis but rather a once-off initiative to support learning providers in
building their own capacity. |
|
|
| Use of the material |
|
| All learning material is currently in zip format. Should you wish to obtain winzip, you can download it from
www.winzip.com |
|
To use this material, please note the following:
- Learner material has been provided for the following categories:
- Core insurance material at Levels 2, 3 and 4
- Elective insurance material at Levels 2 and 3
- Fundamental materials for maths literacy at Level 1
- Fundamental materials for financial literacy at Levels 2, 3 and 4
- Fundamental materials for contextualised communication at Levels 3 and 4
- The material is not suitable for every learner under every circumstance. Further development and
customization of the material will need to take place to ensure that it meets
learner-specific, company-specific and situation-specific needs.

Whilst every effort has been made to ensure that the learning material is accurate, INSETA takes no
responsibility for any loss or damage suffered by any person as a result of the
reliance upon the information contained herein. The material which has been developed is up-to-date and relevant at a specific point in time (see the
specific materials for the date of finalisation). Changes may occur to the unit
standards, to prevailing legislation or to any other context and as such, users
of the material are encouraged to make their own changes to the material to
ensure that it is relevant and up-to-date.
For learners who are unfamiliar
with the insurance industry, it is strongly recommended that material at Levels
2 and 3 are understood before attempting Level 4 materials. In many cases the
Level 4 materials require an understanding of the insurance environment and of a
specific sub-sector. There is open access to these
materials. This means that individuals, companies and training providers may
access and use these materials according to their needs. Please note that INSETA
is not in a position to provide any support to the users of these materials.
Please note too that the use of these materials does not automatically mean that
INSETA endorses the training provider or the assessment tools. Normal
accreditation procedures apply. It should be noted that where-as
the materials may provide formative and summative assessment tools, nevertheless
companies may need to adjust or modify these tools to comply with their internal
assessment policies and procedures. |
